nasal spray is administered together with injections in the dose of two squirts twice daily into the nostrils, at 12 hour intervals.
Decapeptyl, possibly Zoladex, depot injections administered intramuscularly on Day 18 of the menstrual cycle or nasal spray Synarel 8 ml – administered from Day 21 of the menstrual cycle before the treatment cycle itself.
Day 8 to 10 of the treatment cycle
- 7.30 – 8.30 a.m. drawing blood for tests in Ward 16, not necessary on an empty stomach
- 8.30 – 9.30 a.m. ultrasound examination in the Centre of Assisted Reproduction (CAR). It is advisable to empty one's bladder before the examination.
- further monitoring of the cycle, injections administration and setting the timetable for the egg pick-up. The date will be set 2 days in advance.
- Have your injections administration schedule, ampules and nasal spray with you for the sterility ward rounds.
What will you need to take with you?

- Assisted reproduction cards, completed and stamped by your gynaecologist
- Injections administration schedule confirmed by your physician doctor. It will be required on the day of the egg pick-up.
- Report of sampling and results of oncology cytoscopy.
- Completed 'Information for Patients...' form and 35,000 CZK.
- Pregnyl (Profasi) Injections, 10,000 IU.
Timing of the egg collection
Retrieval of oocytes from the ovary is executed under ultrasound control through the vagina under analgesia or total anaesthesia. Immediately after the operation, you will be informed about the number of eggs obtained. If accompanied, you may be released from the hospital 6 hours after the procedure.
On the day of egg pick-up, your partner will be asked to come between 7.30 and 9 a.m. to the Centre of Assisted Reproduction for sperm collection.
